Airports and airlines in the United States are continuing to test and implement technologies for streamlined passenger processing.
Checkpoint queues are a well-known source of passenger inconvenience and stress, so with this in mind a total of 10 airports have implemented the QueueAnalyzer solution from SITA.
QueueAnalyzer employs Bluetooth, WiFi sensors, and video analytics to predict waiting times at airport bottlenecks. It provides dashboards for fast analysis of real-time information against historical data, enabling more efficient allocation of resources.
Phoenix Sky Harbor International and Orlando International were the first to shorten queuing times with QueueAnalyzer. David Menzel, SITA sales director for government markets, told Jane’s that the solution has also been offered to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) so it can fine-tune its operations.
