All commercial operations at George Bush Intercontinental and Hobby airports in Houston were suspended due to record rainstorms in southern Texas following Hurricane Harvey.
However, the Federal Aviation Administration reports that George Bush Intercontinental will reopen at 1200 local time on 31 August, while Hobby will resume operations at 0800 on 30 August.
Humanitarian flights and first-responder flights in support of hurricane recovery efforts are currently operating "when possible", according to airport officials.
