Two companies have been shortlisted for the concession to run Murcia Airport in southeast Spain.
French group Edeis is competing against Spanish national operator Aena. Both bidders must present their proposals before the end of November 2017.
Construction work on Murcia Airport began in 2008, but the opening in 2013 was stalled by a dispute between the regional government and the original group, which was contracted to build and run the airport.
Previously known as Murcia Corvera, the now renamed Región de Murcia International Airport is located about halfway between the regional capital of the same name and the coastal city of Cartagena.
