DHMI of Turkey has become the latest air navigation service provider (ANSP) to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Aireon joint venture.
The MOU commits the two parties to work together on benefit analysis and a concept of operations for space-based ADS-B in the Ankara and Istanbul Flight Information Regions.
DHMI would use the Aireon space-based ADS-B service to augment existing surveillance capabilities, and as a backup solution in the event of a system outage.
