New ILS equipment has been ordered in a joint procurement programme by two of the air navigation service providers (ANSPs) in Functional Airspace Block Europe Central (FABEC).
Thales Electronic Systems GmbH was awarded the contract after a competitive tender. There was one other undisclosed bidder.
DFS of Germany and LVNL of the Netherlands will deploy new ILS at four Dutch and 11 German airports between 2017 and 2030 to replace existing equipment. DFS will roll out 24 ILS with options for five more, while LVNL will receive 10 ILS with a single optional extra system.
