Rosenbauer is to provide 13 new Panther aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) vehicles to Amsterdam Schiphol, with the first delivery scheduled for late 2018.
The Panther 8×8s will be “the largest and fastest fire engines in the Netherlands”, operator Royal Schiphol Group announced on 9 November. They replace a fleet of vehicles that have reached the end of their service life.
Smaller Panther 6×6s will be delivered to Rotterdam The Hague Airport (three) and Lelystad (two).
Each Panther 8×8 has a gross vehicle weight of more than 48,000 kg, with a length of 14 m and a width of 3.2 m.
