CSRA – formed in 2015 by a merger between SRA International and the public sector business of CSC – is deepening its involvement in significant Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) engineering support programmes.
In October 2017, for example, the FAA awarded CSRA a 12-year, USD677 million contract extension to continue providing the Traffic Flow Management System (TFMS), which has tracked aircraft throughout US airspace since 2004. TFMS delivers strategic planning capabilities for controllers at the FAA Command Center in Herndon, Virginia, and it also provides common situational awareness at en-route centres, terminal facilities, and towers across the United States.
The latest upgrade features several NextGen enhancements, among these the ability to add space-based ADS-B tracks as a data feed to the platform.
