The UK airport has implemented an industry-changing initiative for airside equipment pooling
London Luton Airport (LLA) is the fifth busiest in the United Kingdom, with total passenger volume of 14.5 million in 2016. LLA indirectly employs more than 9,400 staff and is a key economic driver for the region.
Airlines operating from LLA include easyJet, Wizz Air, Ryanair, Thomas Cook Airlines, TUI, El Al, Blue Air, TAROM, SunExpress, Iberia (Air Nostrum), and Vueling. Its route network serves more than 130 destinations in Europe, Africa, and Asia.
The airport is operated and developed by a consortium called London Luton Airport Operations Ltd; AENA Aeropuertos of Spain owns 51% with private equity firm Ardian holding 49%.
